DODD medication administration is for unlicensed personnel working in Ohio's developmental-disabilities system. If you check these boxes, you're eligible:
No. DODD Medication Administration certifies developmental-disabilities personnel under Ohio Administrative Code 5123-6 to administer medications in DD settings in Ohio. A Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is an Ohio Board of Nursing credential for nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. They are different trainings, different tests, and different registries.
One year from the date of issue. Ohio requires annual renewal to keep administering medications.
You have a 60-day grace period after expiration to complete renewal. If you miss that window, you must retake the full initial course before you can administer medications again.
